Types and Characteristics

Tie Rods: Primarily used for reinforcing vertical structural formwork. Both ends are equipped with fasteners and nuts for positioning, effectively securing the formwork. In general building construction, tie rods are made of Q235 round steel with rolled threads, with a diameter of M14. For aluminum formwork, Tr18 type tie rods are used, with their length determined by the wall thickness.

Water-stop Tie Rods: These have a water-stopping function due to a water-stop plate welded to the center. They are commonly used on vertical structural members requiring waterproofing. They cannot be sleeved and must be cast into the structure. The new three-section tie rod water-stop design divides the traditional water-stop tie rod into three sections, connected by two frustum nuts. The middle section with the water-stop plate serves as the inner tie brace, while the plastic end caps act as positioning ribs. The tie rods connected to the inner brace are reusable, allowing for easy assembly, disassembly, and reuse.

Reverse threaded rods: Also called left-hand and right-hand threaded rods, they are available in diameters of 30mm, 32mm, 34mm, and 38mm, with customizable lengths. They are primarily used in aluminum formwork connection applications requiring special adjustment functions.

Specifications:

Diameter: Common diameters include M14 (for non-aluminum formwork) and Tr18 (for aluminum formwork), as well as 30mm, 32mm, 34mm, and 38mm reverse threaded rods.

Length: Customizable based on actual wall thickness. For example, factory-direct T18/T16 threaded rods can reach a total length of 6 meters and can be cut to size as required. For wall widths less than or equal to 250mm, the threaded rod specification is M18730; for wall widths greater than 250mm but less than 350mm, the threaded rod specification is M18830, etc.

Material: Generally made of Q235 or 45# steel, possessing sufficient strength and toughness to meet the reinforcement requirements of aluminum formwork.
